Duties and Responsibilities:
- RF Planning: Develop and implement radio frequency plans to optimize network coverage and capacity.
- Spectrum Management: Manage and allocate frequency spectrum efficiently to avoid interference.
- Site Surveys: Conduct surveys to assess and plan the placement of radio equipment for optimal performance.
- Network Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of the Telecel’s radio frequency network.
- Interference Resolution: Identify and resolve issues related to signal interference and degradation.
- Equipment Configuration: Configure and fine-tune radio equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Radio Propagation Analysis: Conduct radio propagation studies to predict signal coverage and strength.
- Collaboration: Work closely with network engineers and other relevant teams for effective coordination.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with radio frequency regulations and licensing requirements.
- Reports: To Technical Manage or collaboratively to the Managing Director
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
– Relevant certifications, such as Ubiquiti Broadband Wireless Administrator (UBWA), Mikrotik Certificate Network Associate (MTCNA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP).
Experience:
– 3-5 years of experience in radio frequency (RF) engineering or a related field.
– Hands-on experience with RF testing, measurement, and optimization.
– Familiarity with RF simulation tools and equipment.
Skills:
– Proficient in RF design, propagation modeling, and coverage analysis.
– Knowledge of wireless communication standards (e.g., LTE, 5G) and protocols.
– Ability to troubleshoot and resolve RF interference issues.
– Familiarity with network planning and optimization for optimal RF performance.
– Experience with spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and other RF testing tools.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Effective communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
– Attention to detail in RF system design and implementation.
– Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance in RF engineering.
– Continuous learning mindset to stay updated on evolving RF technologies.
